Active Roster

The roster limit will be 20 players maximum, 8 minimum. There will be no position requirement to rosters. You must field a complete starting lineup year-round. The only exception will be during the offseason free agency auction periods.

First Year – Initial Startup Draft:

  • Owners will participate in a onetime initial draft (slow email draft) to build their rosters in year one (20 Rounds – 12 hour time limit. Draft taking several days to complete.

 Regular Season Free Agency:

Any player not currently on an active league roster is a free agent (NFL players only).

  • The free agent selection order is set from worst record (overall winning percentage) to best record. (ties are broken by total points for, then points against).

  • You cannot trade your weekly free-agent drafting position.

  • If your team roster is full, if you acquire a player, then you must also drop a player.

  • Each week there are two Worst to First waiver periods. Each waiver period is two rounds. Teams can pick up 1 player per round.

  • The lowest team picks first in all rounds, and the best team picks last.

  • Worst to First waivers are an active function from Weeks 1-13 (starting after week one through to after week 13).

  • Your league calendar will have the exact times and dates.

  • Players dropped during rounds one and two are not available until the next week’s waivers.

  • “Dropped Players” and “Waiver Wire Transactions” are final.

  • First Come First Serve waivers are held Sunday Mornings after both Waiver Wires are complete.

Trades:

  • Trading is allowed from end of the NFL season (Superbowl) until the kickoff of week #11.

  • All trade must be approved by the commissioner.

  • Draft picks are eligible for trading. Future draft picks require league entry fees before trades will be accepted.

Season Schedule and Playoffs:

Regular Season - The regular season schedule will run from week 1 to week 13 of the NFL season, featuring head to head competition. Teams will face division opponents twice during the regular season and all non-division teams once. There will be 1 double headers played in non bye weeks.

Playoffs:

6 teams will make the playoffs with the team with the two best overall records receiving a bye (Top 3 division winners and then the top 3 wild card teams. Brackets are grouped after each round with the highest seed (e.g. #1) always facing the lowest remaining seed.

Tiebreakers:

Tiebreakers for division standings, division winners and playoff seeds are as follows:

  1. Best winning percentage.

  2. *Head to head record.

  3. Best “Breakdown” record. This is the “all play” record against everyone in the league.

  4. **Division record.

  5.  Most points scored in regular season.

* Head to head can only be used if all teams involved played each other. In the event 3 or more teams are tied, there must be a definitive winner among them (i.e. Team A defeated both Team B & C). If there is not a definitive winner, "breakdown" and then total point scored will be used to decide the tie.

** Division record can only be used among teams within the same division.

Rookie/Free Agent Draft:

Starting in our 2nd season, we will hold an annual draft (1st & 2nd Rounds) at 12 Noon ET, June 15th. The team with the lowest winning percentage at the end of the regular season drafts first. The rest of the non playoff teams are placed in order from lowest winning percentage to the highest. In the event of a tie, the team with fewer total points scored selects first. The draft position of each team will be reverse of the previous regular season standings (week 1 - week 13) and maintain the same order each subsequent round. The league Champ will draft 12 and the runner-up will draft 11. If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team. The draft will consist of 2 rounds. Teams will have a 12 hour window to make a pick. If your time expires, you must email the commissioner ASAP and give him your selection. If the player is still available, the commissioner will make the selection for you.

Player Position Eligibility:

We will go by the position MFL has designated each year. Any objections can be brought to the commissioner’s attention and may be put to a league vote.

Owner Conduct:

Each owner is expected to participate year-round and exhibit good sportsmanship towards one another. Tanking, collusion, throwing games, team abandonment and other conduct determined detrimental to the league and its members may bring the possibility of expulsion. Any member expelled will forfeit any fees already paid. In the event someone is removed from the league, the commissioner will do his best to find a replacement. If unable to find one during the season, weekly lineups will follow a best ball format for the un-owned team (Best ball is when the starting lineup is determined by the weekly highest scoring players per position each week, i.e. the highest scoring QB that week would be considered the starter.) Also, the Commish has the right to change the lineup if deemed that the intention was to throw a game with the best projected points for that week.

NFL Strike Clause:

In the event of an NFL strike or general labor stoppage, the season will be canceled and all entry fees will be refunded, excluding deposits which will be pushed to the following season (less any expenses already incurred to host the league).

Strange Play Rulings:

This section will address odd/impossible plays that always seem to happen. It is the responsibility of owners to bring these types of plays to the attention of the commissioner in a timely manner. Plays that happened in week 3 when we are in week 5 will not be reviewed.

Players will not get credit for throwing a TD pass to themselves (Brad Johnson Rule). They WILL get credit for the play as if they are a WR. So in other words, he would get the receiving yardage, TD reception (6pts) and .5 for the catch.
